We are confident that you will love our Chaga Mushroom. Chaga can be ground into a powder or used in small chunks to produce an excellent tasting, immune-enhancing tea. Chaga tea has been used for centuries in Eastern Europe and Eurasia.
Chaga – the miracle mushroom
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a medicinal mushroom that grows on birch trees and has been used in traditional and Eastern medicine for thousands of years.
Known as the “King of the Medicinal Mushrooms”, Chaga contains one of the highest levels of antioxidants of any plant found on earth, resulting in its growing popularity as a natural health treatment. Delaying the growth of some kinds of tumours, Chaga contains:Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a medicinal mushroom that grows on birch trees and has been used in traditional and Eastern medicine for thousands of years.
- Betulin or betulinic acid (a chemical being studied for use as a chemotherapeutic agent)
- Superoxide dismutase (an enzyme that protects against serious oxide damage, neutralizing free radicals that can lead to precancerous cell changes)
Chaga also has potent immune supporting properties. Containing immune-stimulating phytochemicals, Chaga is a rich source of beta glucans, and polysaccharides that are essential nutrients for the immune system and have strong anti-inflammatory properties.
Helps Support the Body's Natural Immunity
Containing immune-stimulating phytochemicals, Chaga is a rich source of beta glucans, and polysaccharides that are essential nutrients for the immune system and have strong anti-inflammatory properties.
In a study conducted in 2005 at Seoul National University, researchers chemically suppressed the immune systems in mice. They fed mice a Chaga extract daily; within eight days, the mice's immune systems returned to normal function.
In addition to supporting the immune system, Chaga may also keep it from overreacting, due to its immunomodulatory effects. Betulinic acid found in Chaga can reduce inflammatory compounds, alleviating inflammation and pain. Anti-bacterial and anti-viral, Chaga will help protect against illness. A natural antipyretic, it may also help to reduce a high fever.
HEALTH PROMOTER
Chaga contains one of the highest levels of antioxidants of any plant found on earth, resulting in its growing popularity as a natural health promoter (contains more anti-oxidants than goji berries, açaí berries, pomegranate and blueberry). Delaying the growth of some kinds of tumours, Chaga contains:
- Betulin or betulinic acid (a chemical being studied for use as a chemotherapeutic agent)
- Superoxide dismutase (an enzyme that protects against serious oxide damage, neutralizing free radicals that can lead to precancerous cell changes)
It’s also a rich source of beta glucans, and polysaccharides that are essential nutrients for the immune system. These polysaccharides have strong anti-inflammatory and immune balancing properties, enhancing the body’s ability to produce natural killer (NK) cells to battle infections or cells that are out of control.
Beta glucans are used to boost the immune system in people whose defenses have been weakened by conditions such as chronic fatigue syndrome, physical and emotional stress; or by treatments such as radiation or chemotherapy. Beta glucans can also help combat:
- Cholesterol – A 13-year-study indicates that beta glucans significantly lowered LDLs (bad cholesterol) in the body.
- Diabetes – Cholesterol, blood pressure, and levels of sugars in the blood have shown to be easier managed with increased beta glucan consumption.
- Immune System Support – Studies have shown that beta glucans may boost the immune system and help fight viral infections.
Chaga for Organ Health
Chaga mushroom helps to regulate PH levels in the body.
Chaga works to cleanse the liver, kidneys and eliminate metals from the body. It works to support the lymphatic system and improve adrenal health.
Aging and Skin Health
Chaga contains high levels of Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), an enzyme that greatly protects against oxide damage. Studies have shown that SOD acts as both an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory in the body, neutralizing the free radicals that can lead to visible effects of aging, such as wrinkles. Researchers are currently studying the potential of SOD as an anti-aging treatment.
Chaga also produces pigments, made to protect the mushroom. In the same way, these pigments protect the human body, helping you maintain a youthful vibrancy. The chemicals found in Chaga mushrooms stimulate the growth and production of Melanin in the body, and help to nourish the skin, hair, and eyes, preventing them from aging (even protecting the hair from graying prematurely).
Melanin isn’t just for looks; the pigment is also of great importance in many functions of the bodily processes. For example, a lack of Melanin or pigment can lead to blurred vision as well as other eyesight problems such as nystagmus, astigmatism, and photophobia. Other effects of a low Melanin count can be dangerous sensitivity to the sun’s UV rays as well as being highly prone to skin cancer and other skin diseases.
